Terms of Service

Effective date: May 24, 2026 · Last updated: May 24, 2026

Foliobin is a small, one-person project — a curated gallery of designer portfolios. I'm Nikita Petrov, an individual based in Russia. By using the site you agree to a few things: be respectful, don't break it, don't claim someone else's work as yours. If you submitted your portfolio, you've given me permission to display it. If I featured you without asking, email me and I will remove your listing — no reason needed, no questions asked. I aim to do this within 72 hours.

How I handle personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.

1. Who runs Foliobin

Foliobin (the "Service") at foliobin.com is operated by Nikita Petrov, an individual residing in the Russian Federation. I am not a registered legal entity or sole proprietor; Foliobin is run as a personal project. You can reach me at hello@foliobin.com.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of foliobin.com and any related services. By accessing or using Foliobin, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy.

2. What Foliobin is

Foliobin is a curated catalogue of designer portfolios. It includes external links to portfolios, my own written commentary and notes, static screenshots and short scroll-preview videos of public portfolios, and embedded iframes of the original websites. Designers featured on Foliobin work at companies including OpenAI, Apple, Perplexity, Anthropic, Yandex, T-Bank, Sber and others. Some featured designers submit their own portfolios; others are curated and added by me because I think their work is worth showing.

The Service is provided free of charge.

3. Acceptable use

When you use Foliobin, you agree not to:

  • Use it to break the law, harass anyone, or post unlawful, defamatory, or harmful content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other users' accounts, or its underlying infrastructure
  • Scrape, mass-download, or systematically copy the gallery to recreate it elsewhere (occasional manual saving for personal reference is fine)
  • Upload anything that contains malware, viruses, or other harmful code
  • Misrepresent your identity or claim someone else's portfolio as your own
  • Resell or commercially redistribute the Service or its content

4. Accounts and sign-in

You can use most of Foliobin without an account. To save portfolios to a collection, submit your work, or use other logged-in features, you sign in through a third-party provider — currently Google, LinkedIn, or X. When you sign in:

  • You're responsible for keeping your account secure
  • The information your OAuth provider shares with me (typically your email, name, and avatar) is governed by my Privacy Policy
  • You can delete your account at any time by emailing me at hello@foliobin.com
  • I can suspend or delete accounts that violate these Terms

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

5. User-submitted portfolios

If you submit your portfolio to Foliobin (whether or not it's accepted — about one in four submissions are), you confirm that:

  • The portfolio is yours or you have the right to share it
  • You grant me a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display the portfolio, screenshots, scroll-preview video, your name, role, and employer on Foliobin and in promotional contexts about Foliobin (newsletter, social posts about new additions)
  • This licence lasts as long as your portfolio is on Foliobin and ends when I remove it
  • You can withdraw your submission at any time by emailing hello@foliobin.com

If your submission contains client work or anything you don't own, you confirm you have the right to share it for editorial display.

6. Featured designers and curation

Foliobin includes designers who did not submit their portfolios — I curate and add them because their public work is good and other designers can learn from it. For these listings I rely on publicly available professional information only: name, job title, employer, and screenshots/embeds of work that is already public on the open web.

If you are featured and want your listing removed: Email me at hello@foliobin.com and I will remove it. You don't need to give a reason. I aim to act within 72 hours.

There is no form, no justification required, and no negotiation. This is a promise, not a customer-service script. If you also want me to confirm in writing that related data has been deleted, ask in the same email and I will.

7. Intellectual property

  • My work. The Foliobin name, design, code, written commentary and notes, editorial selection, and the gallery as a curated database belong to me. You may not copy or reuse them without permission, except for normal personal browsing and linking.
  • Designers' work. Every portfolio, screenshot, embed, and excerpt featured on Foliobin remains the intellectual property of the designer or whoever owns it. Foliobin displays it for editorial and inspirational purposes only.
  • Your submissions. You keep ownership of anything you submit. You only grant me the limited licence described in Section 5.

If you believe content on Foliobin infringes your copyright or other rights, email hello@foliobin.com with a description of the work and where it appears. I will respond promptly.

8. Third-party links, iframes, and external sites

Foliobin links to and embeds (via iframe) external portfolio websites. I don't control those sites, their content, or their privacy practices. Visiting an embedded or linked site is subject to that site's own terms.

9. Newsletter

If you subscribe to the Foliobin newsletter ("five portfolios every Tuesday"), I'll email you a weekly digest. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email or by emailing me. Newsletter handling is described in detail in the Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

Foliobin is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. I make no warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that the content is accurate, complete, or up to date.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or loss of business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of Foliobin. My total liability for any claim related to Foliobin is limited to 1,000 RUB. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law (for example, EU consumer rights or rights you have as a data subject under GDPR or 152-FZ that cannot be waived).

12. Termination

You can stop using Foliobin at any time. I can suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service at my discretion if you violate these Terms, for legal reasons, or if I shut Foliobin down. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. licence grants for published submissions while they remain published, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will survive termination.

13. Changes to these Terms

I may update these Terms from time to time. If I make material changes, I'll post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes means you accept them. If you don't, stop using Foliobin.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Russian Federation. Any dispute will be resolved by the competent courts at my place of residence in the Russian Federation, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence (for example, EU consumer law) gives you the right to sue in your local courts — in which case that mandatory law applies.

Nothing in these Terms limits or waives any rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, Russian Federal Law 152-FZ, or other mandatory data-protection legislation.
